Thoughtful Thursday

I so enjoy sharing my devotional Jesus Calling with you, that I hope you don't mind that I do one of these a week!

Come to Me and rest. I am all around you, to bless and restore. Breathe Me in with each breath. The way just ahead of you is very steep. Slow down and cling tightly to My hand. I am teaching you a difficult lesson, learned only by headship.
Lift  up empty hands of faith to receive My precious Presence. Light, Life, Joy, and Peace flow freely through this gift. When your focus turns away from Me, you grasp for other things. You drop the glowing gift of My presence as you reach for lifeless ashes. Return to Me; regain My Presence.

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29

Today's devotional so relates to where JC and I are in life right now, needing rest and restoration. We cling to our God at this time and know that his plans for our lives are far better and greater then we could ever imagine! I hope these words help you out today and I hope you have a blessed weekend!

Blessings to you my Friends,

Depression- The Fight, The Struggle.

I feel as though it is time I share where I am right now in life… fighting depression. You would think that after having my beautiful baby girl I would be so happy beyond words, yet here I sit fighting one of the hardest battles I have ever faced. The enemy (the devil) is playing mind games with me and whispering lies in my ear, which I know are lies but tend to sound like truth sometimes. I am on medication now and this has helped quit a bit and I am
The little person who makes getting out of bed so much easier,
knowing she needs me is what keeps me going
and keeps me fighting!!
having better days more then I am having bad days. Yet it is still a daily struggle, but one that I am walking with with my God… the only one who knows all the thoughts I am struggling with and the only one who can be my strength, my shield and my savior!

Since this battle has started God has revealed things to me, such as how important it is to protect your mind so that the enemy doesn't get in and whisper those lies and how much I need him and need to rely on him. Not just every once in awhile, but daily I need to rely on Him and all he has to offer! I have dove into my Bible and reading helpful devotional and books that have been so helpful in my search to find true happiness again. I am learning about my God and about myself through this journey and as much as I want to be all better right now, I know it will take time and healing of many emotional scars that I am working through with a Christian therapist. His mercies are new everyday and that is so refreshing to know. I have a God who loves me, even when I don't feel like I am enough… He loves me for all that I am! Many nights especially the hard ones I in-vision myself falling asleep curled up in my saviors hand and being cradled in his loving embrace, how comforting that thought is to me.
I would like to share some of the scripture that has been helping me everyday, I'm working on memorizing them so I can just speak them out loud whenever I need them! Please know that if you are struggling with depression, you are not alone! Get help and reach out to people around you, talk out how you are feeling, the thoughts you are having, journal and be encouraged to know that you have a God who loves you and wants you to be healed and live with pure JOY in your heart!

Blessings to you my friends,

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit.
Zechariah 4:6

Don't worry about anything instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts & minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:6-8

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, and of love, and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

The Lord is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with Joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
Psalm 28:7

So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it's own worries. Today's troubles is enough for today.
Matthew 6:34

But when I'm afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice  in you. Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Psalm 5:11-12

Thoughtful Thursday.

Jesus Calling Pg.31

Worship Me only. Whatever occupies your mind the most becomes your god. Worries, if indulged, develop into idols. Anxiety gains life of its own, parasitically infesting your mind. Break free from this bondage by affirming your trust in Me and refreshing yourself in My presence. What goes on in your mind is invisible, undetectable to other people. But I read your thoughts continually, searching for evidence of trust in Me. I rejoice when your mind turns toward Me. Guard your thoughts diligently; good thought-choices will keep you close to Me.

They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 1 Corinthians 13:11

Thoughtful Thursday.

I started a new devotional at the beginning of this month, it's called "Jesus Calling" By Sarah Young. I have really enjoyed it so far and thought I would share today's devo with you!

It's all right to be human. When your mind wanders while you are praying , don't be surprised or upset. Simply return your attention to Me. Share a secret smile with Me, knowing that I understand. Rejoice in My Love for you, which has no limits or conditions. Whisper My Name in loving contentment, assured that I will never leave you or forsake you. Intersperse these peaceful interludes abundantly throughout your day. This practice will enable you to attain a quiet and gentle spirit, which is pleasing to me.
As you live in close contact with Me, the light of My Presence filters through you to bless others. Your weakness and woundedness are the opening through which the Light of the knowledge of My Glory shines forth. My strength and power show themselves most effective in your weakness.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
1 Peter 3:4

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all- surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 4:6,7

But he said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's  power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Hello 2014!

Looking back at 2013, we had another big year of changes in our lives! We started out with losing another one of our precious babies and ended the year with welcoming our sweet girl into the world! God is so good and faithful to us, and we feel so blessed by all the gifts we have received this passed year! We had a fresh breath of air when we moved from MN to FL in February and have been truly blessed by our new church family and JC's job here. We are excited to see this ministry grow and see how God will work within it! At times it has been tough to be so far away from family, but we are extremely thankful for technology and being able to FaceTime with family especially now that Kylie is here! My brother Brad and his family are here now and we are enjoying spending time with them, we are also looking forward to more family coming out to visit in February and can't wait for Kylie to meet her grandparents!
Looking back at 2013 we defiantly had our challenging moments, we had our grieving moments and we had moments of pure Joy! We end last year with hearts full of thankful ness and look forward to what this new year with our precious Kylie Joy will bring! Hope you all had a wonderful new year! Blessings to you my friends!
